The Certificate To Training Success
The Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) is a program that provides the workforce in the Training and Adult Education Industry with the essential skills and knowledge to design and deliver competency-based training programs and assessments.
Competency-based training programs focus on equipping individuals with the competencies to perform specific job tasks. In these programs, the individual’s competency is assessed using performance standards that are recognized by the industry.
These performance standards are based on a structured competency framework known as WSQ, or the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications. The WSQ system is a coherent and comprehensive development pathway that aims to enhance the workforce with vital industry and occupational skills to maintain the competitive edge and to ensure lifelong employability.
The ACTA program equips individuals with essential skills and knowledge to take on the roles of a curriculum developer, assessment developer, classroom trainer and/or assessor. It will also be able to enhance the skills of in-house training staff to develop and deliver on-the-job training programs and conduct assessments for the organization.
Management representatives overseeing WSQ training in organizations and training centers will also find the ACTA program very useful in helping them to assure quality in their training and assessment.

At the end of the ACTA program, individuals will be able to:
- interpret the Workforce Skills Qualification Framework;
- interpret Competency Standards and translate them into learning outcomes;
- design competency-based curricula (either Classroom or On-the-Job Training program depending on the specialization);
- apply instructional strategies to achieve learning outcomes;
- plan and prepare training sessions;
- contextualize training sessions to meet participants and organizational needs;
- review the effectiveness as well as refine the training sessions based on participants’ feedback;
- plan and design competency-based assessments;
- develop competency-based assessment tools;
- conduct competency-based assessments; and
- validate the competency-based assessment plans and processes

Facilitated Learning Track certifies an individual to be competent in developing competency-based training programs and delivering them in a classroom-training environment. The individual will be able to assess the competency level of trainees in performing a specific job function.
On-the-Job-Training Track certifies an individual to be competent in developing and conducting OJT programs. The individual will be able to assess the competency level of workers in performing a specific job function.
Upon successful completion of each competency unit, a Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded. Upon the attainment of all the SOAs related to a specialization, a full qualification in that specialization will be issued, e.g. Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (Facilitated Learning).

A completed application form and a copy of the NRIC (both sides) with the course fee are to be submitted either by post or by hand to CBLD Center.
Upon receipt of full payment of course fee, a confirmation of enrolment will be sent (Subject to availability of seat).
Payment by cash or cheque must be made at least 2 weeks before the commencement of the course.

Participants who wish to withdraw from the course will be charged a cancellation fee as follows:
CBLD reserves the rights to cancel or reschedule the class. All efforts will be made to inform participants who have signed up soonest possible.
